Leadership

Allen & Sammi Jo

President & Vice President

From the President: This is not just a ministry—it’s God’s ministry. And this is not just a mission—it’s personal.

Yahweh Army was born from a burden the Lord placed on my heart: to rescue victims of human trafficking. That was the original vision. But as God continued to work in me, the vision grew. Today, Yahweh Army exists to serve the homeless, respond to disasters, support shelters, and help restore lives shattered by abuse, addiction, and trauma.

I’ve lived through darkness. I battled addiction from a young age, lived on the streets, and walked roads most don’t survive. I know what it feels like to be trapped, forgotten, abandoned and broken. But I also know the redeeming power of Jesus Christ – because God kicked in my front door and saved my life.

That’s why I care so deeply. Because I remember what it felt like to need a way out, and I know what it means to be given one. I want Yahweh Army to be that lifeline for others – a place of rescue, restoration, and purpose.

My dream is for us to have teams responding to natural and personal disasters, serving meals on the streets, partnering with shelters, and most of all – rescuing those caught in the horrors of trafficking. I pray we can build a sanctuary house one day, filled with training, mentorship, and small businesses that teach survivors how to live again – with dignity and hope. But above all, I want Yahweh Army to remain God-centered. This will never be about fame, numbers, or status. It will be about the honor of God, honoring Him, and fulfilling His call on our lives.

At the end of the day, all the glory belongs to Jesus. I’m just grateful to serve in His army.

Sammi’s Why: When I was 12 years old, I started drinking, smoking, and doing drugs. I got pregnant at 17 and became a mom at 18. This is when I became an alcoholic. Drug use came to a halt so I could go to college and try to better my life for my son and I.After a few years, the drug use started again. Fast forward, I was married and a mom of 5. I was still an alcoholic and became addicted to cocaine. I ended up going into cardiac arrest in front of my kids and was in the hospital for 12 days and now have a pacemaker. Jesus met me while I was in the ICU and changed my life forever. I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus and bring hope to the hopeless.

Dirk & Michele

Secretary & Treasurer

Michele’s Why: Having traveled to other countries on medical mission trips, I have learned the importance of helping those in need and sharing the gospel. I know that God has called me to serve others in this way. If we do not help others in the midst of their storms, natural or man-made, are we really portraying the character of God? Though we need to meet people’s practical needs, the more critical need people have is spiritual. Sharing the Gospel should never be minimized.

Luke 6:36 says, “Be merciful, even as your Father in Heaven is merciful.”

God has been so merciful to me. He saved and delivered me from the pits of hell – drug addiction, pornography, prostitution, multiple personalities, crippling fear, pride, anger and so much more… God has shown me such compassion… How could I not want others to know of His mercy? I was made to be His hands and feet!

My vision for Yahweh Army is to help those in need. Whether it be from a natural disaster, those struggling with homelessness, or those caught in a world of abuse and trafficking.

Nettie’s Why: I remember what it felt like when I was homeless—alone, hopeless, and stuck. I know the pain of being trafficked and feeling like there was no way out.

That’s why I hand out homeless bags because it hurts to see people on the streets with nothing. These bags are more than just supplies. They’re a message: You’re seen. You matter. There is hope in God.

We do this because God calls us to love and serve others—because we’ve been there, and we remember. And because everyone deserves a second chance through His grace.
